A Discussion panel was held between officials and researchers from TRENDS Research and Advisory and a delegation from the Institute of African and Middle Eastern Studies at the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences. The meeting stressed the significant role of think tanks in promoting research and culture, consolidating the values of coexistence and tolerance and encouraging dialogue among peoples. The discussion considered the need for foresight of emerging events and exploring their possible outcome in a way that contributes to developing sound solutions and addressing challenges.
The discussion was hosted by TRENDS at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi. The Vietnamese delegation was headed by Professor Lee Phu Minh, Director General of the Institute, accompanied by a number of the institute’s researchers and officials. The discussion focused on the role of research centers in supporting culture, establishing dialogue and delivering content that contributes to the advancement of knowledge and cultural renaissance of nations. Such knowledge shall help in exploring current issues with a balanced scientific approach to find solutions and address emerging challenges.
The
TRENDS side was headed by Abdulhadi Al-Hammadi, Head of the CEO Office Sector
and attended by a number of TRENDS officials and researchers. Sumaya Al
Hadhrami, Deputy Director of TRENDS Global Sector, welcomed the visiting
Vietnamese delegation on behalf of Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research
and Advisory. She briefed the audience on the nature of research work at
TRENDS, its global vision and strategy of investing in youth as future leaders.
Other TRENDS’ heads of departments explained the nature of their work and briefed
the visitors on research programs at the center, training fields, opinion polls
and TRENDS activities and events. Sumaya Al Hadhrami explained that these
activities contribute to the spread of knowledge, consolidate the values of
tolerance and coexistence, renounce violence and hatred. The TRENDS research
effort provides insightful analyses of events and develops sound solutions.
Mr. Abdulhadi Al Hammadi stressed the TRENDS’ will to
cooperate with research centers and think tanks in Vietnam to promote knowledge
and cultural exchanges. He highlighted the significance of such dialogue in
promoting the values of tolerance, coexistence and understanding of others.
The Director General of the Institute of African and Middle Eastern Studies at the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences and the accompanying delegation delivered an overview of the Institute's work at studying events, building bridges, providing advice and responding to questions of official and academic departments in Vietnam. They explained the Institutes role in providing these institutions with information and analyses. The briefed the audience on the Institute’s experience in the field of cooperation with the regional peers in areas of interest. The Director of the Vietnamese Institute expressed their hope to benefit from the rich experience of TRENDS Research and Advisory. He indicated the significance of strengthening mutual relations in a way that supports visions for peace and coexistence promoted by research centers.
Professor Lee appreciated the research efforts of Trends
Center and praised the quality, comprehensive approach and diversity of its
research interests. He expressed laudatory comments for the distinguished
presence of TRENDS Research and Advisory in global knowledge forums, its valuable
activities and events that cover a wide range of knowledge areas.
