The UAE Public Prosecution signed a memorandum of understanding with TRENDS
Research and Advisory to cooperate in research areas of mutual interest, and
exchange knowledge that serves the community.
The MOU was signed on Thursday September 7, at the headquarters of the Federal Public Prosecution Office in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of First Public Solicitor, Sultan Ibrahim Abdullah Al-Juwaid and Dr. Mohammed Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research and Advisory. The signing ceremony was attended by a number of officials of the State Public Prosecution, Public Prosecutions and officials of TRENDS Research and Advisory.
Pursuant to the MOU, the two parties shall cooperate in conducting specialized legal research and studies in various fields and matters of mutual interest. This includes submitting ideas and proposals, preparing research and studies to foresee the future in the field of the Public Prosecution work. It includes participation in brainstorming sessions, drafting models for innovative ideas and projects in line with the UAE federal government’s directives of adopting a culture of innovation in all public work.
The First Attorney General, Sultan Ibrahim Abdullah Al-Juwaied, stressed
that the agreement comes within the strategy of the Federal Public Prosecution to
conclude strategic partnerships with government agencies, academic and research
institutions. The aim is to consolidate the culture of law among members of
society, in line with its ongoing endeavors to provide innovative solutions in
the field of law and parliamentary work. The two sides shall achieve the
maximum benefit from the capabilities and expertise available to both sides.
Counselor Al-Juwaid added that the interest in the academic and research
aspect falls in line with the vision of the UAE Public Prosecution in adopting
innovative ideas and foreseeing the future in a way that supports the state's wise
directives. This supports the national efforts to deliver the best services to
customers in an efficient and effective manner to satisfy their needs and fulfil
their relevant expectations.
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research and Advisory, expressed his pleasure at signing the agreement. He explained that it shall form the basis for joint cooperation between the two sides and builds close scientific and practical relations. He praised the vital role played by the UAE Public Prosecution, especially in promoting and consolidating the culture of law in the UAE society. Dr. Al-Ali indicated that cooperation between the State Prosecution and the TRENDS Center will have great impact on developing significant, accurate and credible scientific output.
The memorandum of understanding and cooperation between the Public
Prosecution Office and governmental, research and academic partners falls
within the directives of Counselor Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi, the UAE Attorney
General to expand areas of cooperation and strengthen strategic partnerships to
develop criminal prosecution work and expedite adjudication procedures. The MOU
shall help in exchanging legal knowledge, in line with the strategy of the
State Public Prosecution Office to deliver happiness to society with an
effective and fair penal system.
