TRENDS Research and Advisory continues its visit to Kenya as part of its African research tour. TRENDS delegation met in Nairobi with two Kenyan think tanks and discussed the prospects for joint research cooperation on the issues of the African continent, which has become the focus of wide international attention.
These talks explored opportunities
for cooperation, promoting scientific research and encouraging research in the
field of African studies.
The TRENDS delegation, headed by the Center’s CEO, Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, met with officials from The Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA), headed by Dr. Rose Ngugi, Executive Director of the Institute. The meeting was attended by a number of researchers and officials from both sides. They discussed possible ways of cooperation in the field of research, and exchange of experiences in the areas of joint work, such as global peace, political, economic and global security issues, as well as conducting opinion polls and training.
TRENDS delegation briefed the Kenyan side on the nature of the Center's work, its global vision, areas of studies, training and advisory courses. The TRENDS delegation was briefed by Dr. Rose Ngugi and her team on the work of the Institute, which deals with global issues and focuses on Africa.
During the talks, the two sides stressed the importance of research centers in anticipating events, developing plans and analyzing issues. The two sides agreed to continue communication and sign a memorandum of understanding on joint cooperation.
TRENDS delegation discussed with
the Global Center for Policy and Strategy (GLOCEPS) ways of cooperation and coordination in
the field of studies and research, especially in relation to Africa, and the
mutual exchange of experiences.

Dr. Hasan Bagha, Board Member at the Global Center for Policy and Strategy, praised
TRENDS' research effort. He said that the Center has become a focal reference
in the region and a platform for researchers who envisage the future and make
it.
TRENDS Research and Advisory will
launch its Stand on Wednesday at the Nairobi International Book Fair. TRENDS
shall be the first Arab research Center to participate in this major African
Book Fair which runs for four days. TRENDS shall display its research output and
will organize a panel discussion at its Stand entitled "Restrictions to
the deployment of renewable energy in Africa."
