TRENDS Research and Advisory Graduates a New Batch of its “Youth Scientific Research Program”

Under the slogan "Investing in Youth is an Investment in the Future", TRENDS Research and Advisory celebrated the graduation of a new batch of members of the Youth Scientific Research Program. This batch received the focused training over a period of 6 months at the training department at TRENDS Center’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi. The training was delivered in cooperation with Mohamed bin Zayed University for Humanities and TRENDS’ media partner, Al-Ittihad News Center, affiliated with Abu Dhabi Media.




The graduates were handed certificates of participation in the presence of the lecturers and experts who trained them. The ceremony was presided by Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research and Advisory. It was attended by of the Chancellor of Mohamed bin Zayed University for Humanities and Mr. Hamad Al-Kaabi, Editor-in-Chief of Al-Ittihad newspaper, the Director of Al-Ittihad News Center and a group of employees of the three institutions.




His Excellency Dr. Khalifa Mubarak Al Dhaheri, Chancellor of Mohammed Bin Zayed University for the Humanities, stressed the university’s keenness to enhance the fields of scientific research for humanities studies in the UAE. He described this track the main gateway to anticipate the future and support development issues. He added, “For this reason, Mohammed Bin Zayed University for the Humanities signed a strategic partnership with the Trends Research and Advisory to train the university students. This focused training enhances their research capabilities and provide them with additional knowledge skills that enable them to carry out their roles in serving their community and humanity in general.




Dr. Khalifa Al Dhaheri said that the scientific research program confirms the fruitful cooperation between the university and TRENDS Center in spreading the ideas of tolerance, coexistence and human fraternity. He added that the program, which included courses related to the late Sheikh Zayed's legacy of tolerance and coexistence and the quantitative and qualitative social research methods, contemporary issues, is the result of joint effort. The training is based on genuine intellectual program and delivered by experts and lecturers from TRENDS Center and Mohamed bin Zayed University for Humanities. He indicated that the trainees spent six months of training which included subjects in science, research and creative thinking. The program provided research tools for the trainees and enhanced their capabilities in the respective fields. This process enables the UAE youth to promote their country’s vision before international scientific forums with great confidence.




Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research and Advisory, said that the "Scientific Research for Youth" program came as a result of cooperation and effective strategic partnership between TRENDS, Mohamed bin Zayed University for Humanities, and Al Ittihad newspaper which represents Abu Dhabi Media network. He praised the efforts of both sides in activating the research partnership with TRENDS and explained that this cooperation resulted in the concerted academic efforts which prepared a generation of young researchers who are able to keep abreast with current developments and foresee future developments.




Dr. Al-Ali stressed that the "Scientific Research for Youth" program, which has so far completed two cycles, will continue in line with TRENDS’ slogan of "Investing in Youth is an Investment in the Future". The program intends to qualify a new generation of experienced young researchers and research assistants who are able to prepare research papers and studies with balanced scientific methodology.

The CEO of TRENDS indicated that empowering young people and raising their research capabilities and skills is one of the main objectives of the TRENDS’ strategy, as implemented by the Training and Development Department, through a series of various training programs and courses. He said that this program, and other training courses, fall in line with TRENDS' strategic plan, which seeks to qualify and prepare a generation of young cadres in research and knowledge. The trainees receive intensive training to dealing with various variables and developments and address emerging challenges and manage future advancements.




Mr. Hamad Al Kaabi, Head of the Al-Ittihad News Centre, Editor-in-Chief of Al-Ittihad newspaper, stressed the importance of developing national skills and empowering UAE’s young competencies as leaders of the future.

He praised the cooperation between Trends Research and Advisory and Mohammed bin Zayed University for the Humanities, which develops a young generation of capable and proficient cadres who harness the tools of scientific research and modern knowledge for the benefit of the society.




Al Kaabi said: “We need this type of cooperation between research centers and academic and media bodies to train young people on the correct basis of scientific research. They need to be trained on how to conduct surveys and opinion polls. Knowledge of the elements of accuracy, credibility and objectivity, shall reflect positively on the development of policies and strategies by the decision makers.




The ceremony was moderated by Issa Thani, Coordinator at the Training and Development Department, who welcomed the audience and presented the courses and objectives of the program.
