Knowledge enrichment

Mohammed Al-Salimi, Head of Research and Advisory Sector at TRENDS, stressed that the lecture on the fundamentals of research writing, for which the Center was awarded the title of “Guinness World Records”, sought to enrich knowledge in various areas. Objective research is based on sound methodology that explores the nature of the subject issue. It analyzes the salient causes and explores the solutions by using scientific methods used in applied research. Here, experts focus on the role of research in developing knowledge and solving problems.

Al-Salimi said that the lecture highlights the basic elements of writing scientific research. They start with the title and the main research question, the research problem, and the methodology. They include the most effective ways to create the right hypotheses and at the end of the study, arrive at a conclusion regarding the research question.

Al-Salimi added that the lecture also dealt with the most important characteristics of scientific research in terms of the scientific style of writing, away from exaggerated statements and the use of non-scientific terminologies. He said the lecture provided a more comprehensive understanding of how to take a neutral stance when addressing the issue and the research question to arrive at a precise scientific solution. Al-Salimi said that the lecture included practical training to conduct opinion polls, which focused on the most important principles followed in this field. They start by observing the confidentiality and privacy of the personal information of the survey participants and the diversification of questions in order to measure the opinions of the participating sample in a scientific way.
