TRENDS Research and Advisory concluded its participation in the activities of the International Council on Archives Congress-Abu Dhabi 2023, held at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC). The Congress was held during the period of October 9-13, under the slogan "Enriching Knowledge Societies". It is organized by the Abu Dhabi National Library and Archives.
TRENDS’ pavilion, no. A6-A7, in Hall 11 of the Congress which takes place in Middle East for first time in Abu Dhabi, included a variety of TRENDS research publications. The titles featured hundreds of various topics of knowledge, especially the issue of sustainability and climate, in addition to other fields, whereby visitors shall access TRENDS research output and have an idea about the nature of its knowledge work.
A crowd of officials and visitors flocked to the TRENDS Stand immediately after its inauguration. They were briefed on the contents of the Stand and they praised Trends' research efforts and the quality of its diverse publications.
The Trends delegation, headed by Mr. Abdulhadi Al Hammadi, Director of the CEO's Office Sector, briefed the visitors about Trends Research and Advisory, the nature of its work and its main research output.
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS, said that TRENDS' participation in this global event, which witnessed the attendance of over 5,000 participants from more than 130 nations in addition to 60 exhibitors was significant. The participation falls in line with the Center’s keenness to attend global forums. This participation shall enhance scientific research that anticipates events, foresee the future, and provides balanced insights and visions.
Dr. Ali added that TRENDS Research and Advisory, with its known global vision and strategy, multiple partnerships is intending to spread the concept of broad-based-scientific research and promote the values of tolerance, coexistence, sustainability and innovation.
He explained that TRENDS participation in the Congress supports sustainable knowledge, consolidate a culture of peace and tolerance, promotes exchange of experiences with regional and international institutions. TRENDS Center meant to explore prospects for cooperation with the participants and strengthens the network of research and knowledge. TRENDS participation in the event facilitates holding of discussion sessions and participation in relevant scientific workshops.
Dr. Al-Ali expressed his appreciation to the organizer, a TRENDS' partner, the Abu Dhabi National Library and Archives and said that the Congress became a global platform for building sustainable knowledge.
The global event addressed climate action, in light of the upcoming COP28 conference, which will be held in the UAE. He referred to the importance of adopting environmentally responsible practices in the archive sector. The Congress represents a global opportunity to contribute to building bridges of understanding and promoting dialogue between diverse cultures.
