TRENDS Research and Advisory is participating in the 42nd edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair 2023, which will run from November 1-12, 2023, at Expo Centre Sharjah. The iconic book fair welcomes publishers from around the world with the theme 'We Speak Books”. The fair is the largest book fair in the world, with more than 1,500 publishing houses from more than 80 countries.
TRENDS Stand shall display more than 200 publications ranging from original and translated books to a collection of scientific series. The books shall be offered In Arabic, English and other languages and cover a wide range of regional and global issues. The titles include issues of political Islam, sustainable development, foreign policy and international relations, economic development, energy and natural resources, international trade and investments, artificial intelligence and advanced technologies. Moreover, the collection includes ten books from the Encyclopedia of the Muslim Brotherhood.
The TRENDS booth will witness the ceremonial signing of 12 new publications by the center's researchers, and a series of panel discussions and dialogues on the sidelines of the Sharjah book Fair.
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research and Advisory, stressed that the Center's participation in the Sharjah International Book Fair represents an important step in strengthening the Center's presence on the global cultural and intellectual space. It is also a good opportunity for the center to network with readers and researchers from around the world, and exchange ideas and insights on regional and global issues.
Dr. Al-Ali added that through participation in this important book fair, the Center shall enhance cooperation and partnership with cultural and intellectual institutions around the world. It is a suitable event to exchange experiences and knowledge output, in a way that spreads culture and knowledge and promotes mutual understanding among peoples.
Rawdha AlMarzouqi, Director of Distribution and Exhibitions Department at TRENDS, said that the Center’s Stand number " L28" in the hall of the Expo Center Sharjah, will host a series of events, dialogues and panel discussions. The activities address various topics and focus specifically on environmental and climate issues. She indicated that the pavilion was designed in line with the concept and theme of COP28 and the environment. The aim is to raise awareness among visitors about the importance of preserving the environment and facing the challenges of climate change.
Rawdha AlMarzouqi explained that TRENDS Center’s participation in the Sharjah International Book Fair is an opportunity to communicate with the publishing sector and explore possible cooperation with publishers. She said the fair is a global cultural platform that has taken the lead in global cultural dialogue initiatives. This falls in line with the vision and aspirations of TRENDS Research and Advisory as an independent global research center.
