- The University of Sharjah organizes the First
International Conference on "Applied Research in Humanities and Social
Sciences", attended by experts from 40 countries
TRENDS Research and Advisory participated in the First International Conference on "Applied Research in the Humanities and Social Sciences... Global Interdisciplinary Practices". TRENDS is an official sponsor of the conference which is organized by the Research Institute for Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Sharjah. The event shall run from October 31 to November 2, 2023, with the participation of scientists, experts, academics and researchers from 40 countries.
TRENDS Research and Advisory has a special Stand, containing various publications, research papers and studies, which reflect many research fields. The titles include subjects of humanities, environment and sustainable development, artificial intelligence and advanced technologies, economic development, human security, international political economy and national policies. Other titles include strategic analyzes, tolerance and coexistence studies and the Young Researchers Program.
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research and
Advisory, praised the international participation in the conference. He stressed
that TRENDS diverse and harmonious teams shall advance scientific research,
through knowledge and creative output, based on accurate international
standards.
Dr. Al-Ali indicated that scientific research addresses
different areas of life. He stressed the significance of constructive research
in the humanitarian, social, economic and knowledge fields, due to the flexibility
and ability of research to apply to all issues, events and crises. Dr. Al-Ali
said that the themes and sessions of the First International Conference on
Humanities and Social Sciences reflects this aspect.
Shaping community awareness
The
CEO of TRENDS said that applied research is a major source of promoting public awareness,
and the conference shall emphasize the importance of linking scientific
research with community issues. This is in addition to the need to direct
research and studies to foresee the future, so that societies and individuals
can use emerging opportunities, overcome challenges and obstacles and turn them
into achievements.
Dr. Al-Ali
stated that TRENDS' global strategy employs balanced research studies and
effective partnerships to contribute to the formulation of sound policies for all
aspects of life, especially social and humanitarian. Dr. Al-Ali indicated that
TRENDS' research and knowledge output also takes into account the rules of
analysis, criticism and future foresight, which are committed to strict standards
for serious and purposeful scientific research.
Leading role
The University of Sharjah honored TRENDS Research and Advisory, represented by its CEO Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, for the pioneering, positive and effective role of TRENDS in advancing the scientific research. TRENDS has been recognized for providing expert opinion by researchers and academics through publications, studies and qualitative research in several fields, especially in humanities and social sciences field.
Prof. Hamid Majoul Al Nuaimi, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, accompanied by Prof. Muammar Beltayeb, Vice Chancellor for Scientific Research, handed over the honorary shield to Dr. Muhammad Al-Ali. They both lauded TRENDS Center’s credible research, scientific and Knowledge efforts. They praised the Center's sponsorship of the First International Conference "Applied Research in the Humanities and Social Sciences... Global Interdisciplinary Practices", and its participation with a diverse pavilion in the sideline exhibition.
TRENDS'
special stand in the sideline exhibition was visited by a crowd of experts,
academics and researchers attending the first international conference. The VIP
visitors included His Excellency Brigadier Dr. Muhammad Khamis Al-Othmani,
Director General of the POLICE SCIENCES ACADEMY- SHARJAH, Prof. Ken
Rutherford, leader of the Nobel Prize-winning coalition that led the
International Mine Ban Treaty, and Prof. Fakir AL Gharaibeh, Director of Research
Institute of Humanities & Social Sciences (RIHSS)
at Sharjah University, and many others interested in scientific research.
