As part of the "Book Signing" activities, TRENDS
Research and Advisory, release new publications at the Signature Corner at the
Sharjah International Book Fair 2023. The Center organized a signing ceremony for
three new books. They included "The Future of Mental Health Care in the
United Arab Emirates", by His Excellency Maqsoud Cruse, Chairperson of the
Board of Trustees of the National Human Rights Institution (NHRI), and a book entitled
"The Abraham Accords... A reading of the indicators of the transformation
of the American role in the Middle East" by researcher Muhammad
Al-Dhahouri, Head of the Department of Strategic Studies at TRENDS Research and
Advisory. The Third book is entitled "The Gulf States in the New
International Order... Sources of Power and the Limits of Influence", by
Mohammed Al-Sawafi, a researcher in international relations.
The book signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Mohammed
Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research and Advisory, Mohammed Al Hammadi, Chairman
of the UAE Journalists Association, Assistant President of the General Union of
Arab Journalists, and a number of researchers, and visitors to Book Fair.
His Excellency Maqsoud Cruse, Chairperson of the Board of
Trustees of the National Human Rights Institution, spoke about his book
"The Future of Mental Health Care in the United Arab Emirates." He
said that the publication reflects the goal of the UAE government to develop a
world-class health care system, and to provide health care to its citizens and
residents. Indeed, the UAE adopts the latest scientific developments in this health
care, including mental health. He indicated that mental and behavioral
disorders remain a major public health concern that must be considered as a
priority for all societies.
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National
Human Rights Institution said that the UAE government considers prioritizing
the healthcare sector, including mental health, as a fundamental human right
and part of its responsibility to ensure the well-being of its citizens. He
explained that the establishment of a world-class mental health care system in
the UAE is a complex and multifaceted challenge that includes various elements,
such as integration with primary health care and facilitating easy access, to
ensure the availability of health services to all people in need, regardless of
their background, socio-economic status or place of residence.
Researcher Mohammed Al-Dhahuri, head of the Department of
Strategic Studies at TRENDS, said that his book is entitled: "The Abraham
Accords... A reading of the indicators of the transformation of the American
role in the Middle East.” He explained that the book addresses the subject of
the Abraham Accords, and the transformation of the American role in the Middle
East, by focusing on the era of former US President Donald Trump. The book discussed
the concept of a tolerant Middle East, the basis on which the Abraham Accords
were built. It reviews the general context of the American role in the signing
of the Abraham Accords, as well as exploring the US interests. The author analyzed
changes in Washington's foreign policy, and their impact on the future of the
international system.
Mohammed Al-Sawafi, a researcher specializing in
international relations, signed his book "The Gulf States in the New
International Order” He said that the new version is a study that seeks to analyze
the role of the Gulf states in the international system. The book explores the
idea of the "Gulf moment" in regional and international politics, and
examine these countries' vision of the nature of the international system and
its future prospects.
