TRENDS Research and Advisory organizes a panel discussion on Saturday 11 /11 H.E. Mariam Almheiri reviews the issue of “COP28 and the importance of promoting sustainable food systems”

 TRENDS Research and Advisory will host on Saturday November 11, a panel discussion as part of its roadmap to COP28. Her Excellency Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri, UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment and COP28 Food Systems Lead, will be the keynote speaker in the session entitled, “COP28 and the importance of promoting sustainable food systems”.

The event will be held in the Grand Hall of the Sharjah International Book Fair, at Expo Sharjah. H.E. Minister Al Muhairi will address three main themes: the UAE's initiatives in providing sustainable food and agricultural systems, the intended results of COP28 to promote sustainable food systems, and the role of the UAE to achieve the objectives of the COP28 conference.

The panel will be moderated by Ms. Sumaya Al Hadhrami, Deputy Director of TRENDS Global Sector, Head of the Trends Committee at COP28.

Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research and Advisory, said that this panel discussion is graced by the kind participation of Her Excellency Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri, UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment. The event comes within the framework of the Center's roadmap aimed at supporting the country's efforts to host and organize an exceptional and historic edition of the Conference of the Parties "COP28". The conference is widely expected  to come up with results that put all humanity on the right track to face the threat of climate change.

He added that TRENDS Center attaches great importance to climate change, environment and sustainability issues. This is based on its keenness to address serious and objective scientific issues of interest in the region and the world. Dr. Al-Ali said that TRENDS has developed a focused plan to keep abreast with the COP28 conference, and support the huge efforts led by the UAE and the presidency of COP28, to reach the intended results. This can be delivered through serious and objective research work covering various issues on the conference agenda.

Dr. Al-Ali also stressed TRENDS' keenness to empower youth in this field, by engaging them in the development and implementation of TRENDS green initiatives. This reflects the Center's commitment to deliver valuable scientific and research contributions in the field of climate change.
