-Trends Panel Discussion: Sport is an effective tool for mutual relations

 

His Excellency Mohammed Jalal Al Raisi, Director General of the Emirates News Agency, Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of the Global Media Congress, and a large crowd of media professionals, attended the closing session of the second edition of the Global Media Congress. Trends Research and Advisory concluded its participation in this second edition of Global Media Congress 2023, which was held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center for three days. The Center launched a new initiative entitled "Research Content Creators". The initiative aims at developing a media model that promotes and encourages scientific research and creates an empowered generation of leaders of the future.




The vision of the initiative is to promote Trends Research and Advisory as a pioneer research institution, a voice of knowledge, and supporter of talented young writers.

The initiative team consists of 10 qualified Trends researchers, 5 young men and 5 young women, specializing in various fields.

Dr. Mohammed Al-Ali, CEO of Trends Research and Advisory, stressed that the "Research Content Creators" initiative will provide dedicated platforms for members in order to expand the scope of scientific research.

Dr. Al-Ali stressed the need to benefit from the expertise and advanced technologies presented at the Global Media Congress. He said the event constitutes significant forum to learn about technology and progress in media work.

 



Global Media Congress Recommendations

His Excellency Mohammed Jalal Al Raisi, Director General of the Emirates News Agency and Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of the Global Media Congress, announced the recommendations through a Trends podcast episode. In a joint conversation with Diwan Al-Mulla, the two guest announced the recommendations of the second edition of this global media gathering. The Media Congress focused on the need to empower youth in the field of media, and benefit from modern technologies of all forms. Moreover, The Global Media Congress focused on sustainability and climate issues in light of the UAE's hosting of COP28. The discussions included the ongoing efforts to expand participation in future editions of the Global Media Congress and the building of new partnerships.


HE Al Raisi praised Trends' participation and outstanding efforts during this session, which contributed to the success of the Congress deliberations and the achievement of its goals.




Panel Discussion: Sport is an effective tool

Trends Research and Advisory organized a panel discussion at its booth entitled "The Transformative Power of Sport: The Game and its Impact on the World.”

Sultan AlRubaei, Deputy Head of Research and Advisory Sector at Trends, moderated the panel discussion which was attended by Yaqoub Al Saadi, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Sports Channels, and Warda Al Menhali, Director of Corporate Communications and Chairperson of the Sports Committee at Trends Research and Advisory.




 

Sultan Al-Rubaie said that sport has a great transformative impact on the world, as it can contribute socio-economic and cultural development.

Sport is a universal language that transcend borders, a force that brings cultures together and breaks down barriers. He added that sport can contribute to social development by promoting health and fitness, solidifying the values of tolerance and respect, and building team spirit and collective cooperation.




Al-Rubaie explained that sport can contribute to economic development by creating jobs, attracting investments, and boosting tourism. He pointed out that sport can contribute to cultural development by strengthening national identity, spreading cultural values and promoting social inclusion.

Mr. Yaqoub Al Saadi, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Sports Channels, opened the panel discussion, stressing that sport is a transformative force in the world. Indeed, it has an important role in sustainable development and peacebuilding, noting that sport contributes to achieving many sustainable development goals.




He added that sport plays an important role in building peace, as it reduces tension between nations and promote understanding and respect between different cultures.

Al-Saadi concluded that sport is a positive force in the world, with the potential to achieve many noble goals, such as sustainable development and peacebuilding.




Warda Al Menhali, Director of Corporate Communications and Chairperson of the Sports Committee at Trends, said that the UAE has great potential to enhance sports diplomacy, through a set of factors. These include the existence of many strategies and policies to develop the sports sector, and the possession of advanced sports infrastructure. The UAE has more than 13 football play fields with international standards, many integrated sports complexes, basketball, tennis, golf, cricket courts, horse racing tracks, car racing tracks, and athletic tracks. The UAE has a track record of hosting many local and international sports tournaments in the fields of football, golf, cricket, tennis, and others.

Ms. Warda explained that these capabilities enhance the effective role of UAE sports diplomacy, which contributes to the task of building bridges of cultural and civilizational communication between countries and peoples. In fact, sports diplomacy enhances international cooperation and promotes the country's image globally.




Ms. Warda indicated that investing in sports diplomacy helps achieve the country's strategic goals, including strengthening its international standing, attracting foreign investments, creating job opportunities and developing the sports sector.

At the end of the session, the participants stressed the significant role of sports in building a peaceful world.

Trends pavilion recorded 16 new episodes of the "TRENDS podcast" over three days. The conversations addressed various topics related to climate, sustainability, media, confronting incitement and extremism, in addition to empowering young researchers.
