Trends releases a study entitled "The Document on Human Fraternity in its Fifth Year: Added Value and Future Prospects" The release coincides with the International Day of Human Fraternity. The study is conducted by researcher Mohammed Khalfan Al-Sawafi, who is specialized in international relations. The paper is the first comprehensive academic study on the document of human fraternity. It assesses its development during the past five years, and analyses its prospects for actual implementation.

The study sheds light on the context of the emergence of the document, starting with the East-West dialogue initiative, proposed by the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, in 2014, till its signing by the Sheikh of Al-Azhar and His Holiness Pope Francis in Abu Dhabi in 2019.

The study analyzes the content of the document and identifies the most important values and principles that promote it, such as freedom, justice, coexistence, tolerance, respect for religions, and the rejection of intolerance and hatred.

The study discusses the commitments contained in the document, identifies those factors for its implementation, and assesses the progress made so far.
