Trends Research and Advisory
hosted a meeting that brought together Trends Research and Advisory researchers
and a delegation from the Brazil-Africa Institute. The visiting delegation was headed
by Dr. Joan Bosco Monti. The discussion focused on ways to enhance research
cooperation between the two sides through joint publication projects, organizing
round tables and scientific events, and exchanging training of young
researchers.
The meeting took place during
the delegation's visit to Trends headquarters in Abu Dhabi. Each party explained
its main research interests, and the two sides discussed the prospects for cooperation
in various fields.
The two sides stressed the
importance of opening new horizons of research cooperation. Trends officials
learned about the Brazilian experience and how to benefit from its research
experience.
Trends researchers stressed the benefits
of cooperation between international research institutions. They expressed the
two institutions possess the expertise and competencies that serve the
objective of exchanging experiences and promoting sound knowledge.
Dr. Joan Bosco Monti, Chairperson
of the Brazil-Africa Institute, expressed his happiness at this important
meeting. He stressed the importance of research centers in exploring events and
foreseeing their consequences. He praised Trends’ research efforts and the
diversity of its studies. He expressed his aspiration to cooperate with Trends in
a number of research and training fields, opinion polls and others.
The session included an open
discussion between TRENDS researchers and Joan Bosco Monti, during which
insights were exchanged on various issues. The audience stressed that
scientific research is the basis of technological progress, and that the
countries that invest in scientific research shall lead the world in the
future.
The two sides agreed to continue
their communications and sign a prospective agreement that frames joint
cooperation.
