In the Second Leg of its Asian Tour.. TRENDS Center and the University of Tokyo (RCAST) «Discuss Prospects for Joint Cooperation»

TRENDS Research and Advisory Center and the University of Tokyo’s Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST) discussed prospects for joint cooperation and ways of building bridges of cooperation between the two sides to achieve common goals in the fields of research and knowledge.

 

The TRENDS Center delegation headed by Dr. Muhammad Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of the TRENDS, paid a cordial visit to the university's headquarters in the Japanese capital. The visit is part of TRENDS Center’s second leg of its Asian tour, which includes, in addition to South Korea, a third leg of visiting Singapore later. This Asian tour shall enhance the global outreach of TRENDS Research and Advisory Center and open new horizons for cooperation and partnerships that support scientific research.

 

 

 

 

During the visit, the delegation met with Professor Masakazu Sugiyama, Head of Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, The University of Tokyo, Professor Michio Hashimoto, Head of Projects and Professor Satoshi IKEUCHI, Professor at the Department of Religion and Global Security at the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST) at the same university. The Two sides discussed ways of joint cooperation to enhance the momentum for research between the two institutions. The discussions dealt with several global research issues such as climate change, Asian studies and the use of artificial intelligence technologies. Moreover, the two sides discussed other political and economic issues of interest and mechanisms of cooperation between TRENDS Center and the University of Tokyo. They also discussed possible mechanisms of cooperation in the fields of translation and exchange of expertise.

 

 

 

 

Dr. Al-Ali was accompanied by a number of the Center’s heads of sectors and departments. They gave a brief overview of TRENDS Research and Advisory, its departments, field of work and research interests. They explained aspects of focused research, studies, training and development programs in addition to survey and opinion polls. The TRENDS delegation explained that the Center has a vision of pursuing world-class research that seeks to anticipate events, understand them and develop effective solutions.

 

 

 

 

In turn, the officials of the University of Tokyo gave a brief presentation about the university, its departments and fields of study. The explained the university's drive to become a global institution and cooperate with the Arab world in general and Trends Center in particular. They stressed their keenness to cooperate in the research field with TRENDS Center which they commend its global reputation. They praised the quality of TRENDS’ comprehensive and documented research output.

 

It is worth noting that the University of Tokyo occupies the leading position, as the most prestigious Japanese university. It is ranked as one of the best international universities. Eight of its graduates are Nobel Prize laureates, and some have been awarded the Fields Medal, also known as International Medal for Outstanding Discoveries in Mathematics.
