TRENDS Research and Advisory Center inaugurated on Wednesday morning its participation in the Seoul International Book Fair 2023. Its special stand showcases dozens of diverse titles of research publications, which analyze and anticipate current issues. The Center begins its Asian tour that includes South Korea, Japan and Singapore to strengthen TRENDS’ research partnerships, expand its outreach and confirm its global knowledge vision.
TRENDS Stand No. C27, at the COEX Exhibition Complex in the South Korean capital will continue until June 18th. The Stand attracted many visitors of the global book fair and a number of officials, writers, book makers and publishers. It displays dozens of titles that contain the qualitative research effort of a wide selection of researchers and specialists in the scientific, political, security, economic, and military fields. Moreover, TRENDS will display its unique encyclopedia about the Muslim Brotherhood and other series on political Islam movements.
His Excellency Abdullah Saif Al Nuaimi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, His Excellency Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, CEO of the Sharjah Book Authority, Mr. Rashid Al Kous, Executive Director of Emirates Publishers Association, and Ms. Dubai Abulhoul, CEO of Fikr Foundation, visited the TRENDS Stand this morning.
The TRENDS Stand was also visited by a media delegation that included Saud Al-Darbi, Head of the News and Publishing Center at Dubai Media Incorporated and Editor-in-Chief of Al-Bayan newspaper, Mona Bou Samra, editor-in-chief of Emarat Al Youm newspaper, Raed Barqawi, Executive Editor-in-Chief of Al-Khaleej newspaper and Karine Pansa, President of the International Publishers Association (IPA). A number of researchers and media professionals from the host country and other countries visited the Stand where the members of the TRENDS Center's delegation to the exhibition delivered an overview of the nature of the center's work, studies, research, publications, various activities, fields of training and opinion polls. The visitors appreciated the meaningful, effective and rich participation of the TRENDS Center in this most prominent and important cultural event in East Asia.
They also praised TRENDS' global vision, which seeks to transfer knowledge and enhance the role of think tanks and scientific research on a wider international space. The visitors expressed their admiration for the qualitative publications offered by the Stand. They appreciated TRENDS' global research efforts, especially its translated books in several languages, as well as the TRENDS Encyclopedia about the Muslim Brotherhood and its ten books. Visitors also valued TRENDS' global vision and said that TRENDS' reputation preceded it to Seoul participation through its renowned activities which explore current developments, anticipate the future and even participate in its making.
The TRENDS delegation visited a selection of other Stands in the Seoul Book Fair. They discussed the possibilities for building partnerships and the prospects for research cooperation.
The delegation also visited the Starfield Library, located in the center of COEX Mall in Seoul. This is an open public space free library inside a shopping mall, the most beautiful readily available library in the world and an important South Korean cultural landmark.
TRENDS is organizing a scientific symposium entitled "The Road to COP28: The Importance of Collective International Action to Confront Climate Change" at a pavilion at the Seoul Book Fair this afternoon. Another symposium will be held on Friday in cooperation with The Jeju Peace Institute (JPI), of South Korea entitled: "Relations between peoples as a basis for making world peace: building a culture of dialogue and tolerance".
