TRENDS Research and Advisory hosted a discussion on the role of think tanks and research centers in promoting the values of tolerance, coexistence, human fraternity, and the rejection of hatred and extremism of all kinds. The event was attended by Ambassador Deborah Lipstadt , the US Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism, and Ted Deutch, CEO of American Jewish Committee (AJC).
The discussion was held on the sidelines of a lecture at Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy (AGDA) on building bridges and combating hatred. Mr. Awad Al-Breiki, Head of TRENDS Global Sector, and Alya Aljneibi, Head of Strategic Communication Department at TRENDS Research & Advisory, Ambassador Deborah Lipstatt, and Mr. Ted Deutsch, reviewed the importance of constructive dialogue and the necessity of mutual understanding.
The two TRENDS’ officials briefed US delegation on the Center’s efforts and role in promoting the values of peace, coexistence and human fraternity. They indicated TRENDS’s keenness to build bridges of knowledge that fill the gap. They stressed the role of young people in research centers in particular and other fields in general, in peacemaking and closer convergence of opinions.
The US Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism and the CEO of the American Jewish Committee, stressed the importance of peaceful coexistence, tolerance and freedom of expression as fundamental pillars for all global communities. They appreciated the role of TRENDS center in promoting the culture of peace, tolerance, coexistence and human fraternity through its studies and publications.
During the discussion session, the Abraham Accords and their impact on stability and peace in the region were also discussed. The two sides noted that these agreements open wide prospects for regional cooperation.
