TRENDS Center continues Second Day activities at Abu Dhabi Book Fair 2023.. Symposium discussed how to anticipate the future in a changing international context

TRENDS Research and Advisory continued its activities for the second day at the 32^nd edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2023. The Center organized a major symposium entitled "How to envision the future and make it." The TRENDS Stand displayed dozens of titles from its diverse research publications, which analyze and anticipate future scenarios for current issues.

Symposium: How to envision the future and make it?

Experts, researchers, academics and media professionals discussed the main theme on “How to envision the future and make it? Foresight studies in a changing international context.” The event was held at TRENDS’ Stand at Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2023. The panel explained the importance of promoting the culture of strategic foresight and strategic values and goals. This could be done by clarifying preemptive employment of resources and innovative methods that achieve optimum excellence in performance to transform hopes for a better future into a successful reality.

The speakers stressed that building the future is based on the sound decisions and steps we take in the present. Future foresight is a systematic participatory process of gathering the right information about the future to develop medium and long-term visions aimed at making applicable decisions in the present. Such visionary actions and strategies must finally be implemented to accomplish quality national achievements.

The panel of experts featured the valuable participation by Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research and Advisory, Dr. Kais Hammami, Director of Strategic Foresight Center at ICESCO, His Excellency Ambassador Zikrur Rahman (Retd), Joint Secretary of The Association of Indian Diplomats, Dr. Faisal Al Kaabi, Dean of Faculty of Resilience at Rabdan Academy and Mr. Hamad Al Kaabi, Editor-in-Chief of Al Ittihad Newspaper.

TRENDS STAND

The TRENDS’ Stand at the Abu Dhabi Book Fair attracted many visitors of the exhibition. It was visited by a number of diplomats, writers, researchers and media professionals. All of them expressed their admiration for the qualitative publications showcased in the Stand, and appreciated the efforts of the TRENDS Research and Advisory Center. They admired the futuristic approach of the Center’s publications. They praised TRENDS for promoting evidence-based research which rely on documented information and serious original research. A number of scholars praised TRENDS' latest release.
