Dr. Aisha Al-Sarihi is currently a research fellow at the Middle East Institute (MEI) of the National University of Singapore. Prior to joining MEI, Dr Al-Sarihi served as a research associate in the Climate and Environment Program at King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC) from 2019 to 2021.
After obtaining her PhD, she served as a research officer at the Middle East Centre of the London School of Economics and Political Science. She was also a visiting scholar at the Arab Gulf States Institute in Washington (2017) and the Center for Contemporary Arab Studies at Georgetown University (2018). Dr Al-Sarihi’s areas of interest and research expertise include clean energy policy, climate economics and governance, with a focus on the Arab region and Middle East-Asia relations. She holds a PhD from the Centre for Environmental Policy at Imperial College London and a MSc and a BSc, with distinction, from Sultan Qaboos University.
