Submission Guidelines

1. Number of Words
Students participating in the Competition can submit papers of between 1,200 and 1,500 words.

2. Choosing Topics
Students may choose a topic from the following list or another theme concerned with COP28, climate change, or sustainability

3. Submission Timeline
The paper submitted for the Competition must be submitted via email (Youth@trendsresearch.org) before the deadline after September 9th, 2023, not after December 12th, 2023.

4. Judging Criteria
Papers submitted will be judged by the Trends Research Committee based on the below criteria:
a. Objectivity in analyzing the thoughts and opinions, staying away the bias, and adopting an objective approach to analysis;
b. Excellence in handling the facts discussed in the paper and analyzing and highlighting relevant elements of the research;
c. Logical and objective sequence in presenting the contents of the paper, the accuracy of formulation, the clarity of the words, and the integrity of the language;
d. Observance of the proper use of references and referencing style (Chicago Manual of Style or APA).
e. Inclusion of up-to-date references and sources of information, including over the period 2021 – 2023. -
5. Awards Details
Having judged all submissions, Trends Research & Advisory intends to award One Best Paper, One Best Paper Runner-Up, and One Honourable Mention. Trends Research & Advisory reserves the right to adjust the number of awards depending on the quality and quantity of entries.

6. Prize Announcement
The results of the Competition will be announced on December 15th, 2023, and each awardee will receive [a cash prize] (10,000AED, 5000AED, 3000AED)
