Trends in a panel discussion in Doha Discussions on Gulf Economic Affairs and Development Integration

Trends Research and Advisory participated for the first time in the seventh panel discussion to explore the prospects of joint Gulf economic development integration, organized by the Office of the Economic and Development Affairs Authority of the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf at the Doha Horticultural Expo, in coordination with the Ministry of Economy.

The panel discussion in Doha, Qatar dealt with several important issues of relevance to the future of Gulf cooperation and its economy, including technology, innovation, environmental awareness and sustainability.

Trends delegation included Sultan AlRubaei, Deputy Head of Research and Advisory Sector, and Moza Al-Marzouqi, Head of the Economic Affairs Department. They met with a number of participating delegations and discussed the subjects on the panel agenda. They reviewed ways of future research cooperation between TRENDS and these institutions.

Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of Trends Research and Advisory, described this Gulf panel discussion as a unique opportunity to meet with this large gathering of officials, experts and researchers to discuss the most pressing challenges in the field of Gulf economic and development integration.


He stressed that Trends' participation falls in line with its keenness to have a qualitative and effective presence in such regional and global forums. It reflects the objectives of Trends' strategy and global vision of supporting the spread of scientific research and knowledge transfer. Also, it reflects Trends’ endeavour to build effective partnerships that support scientific research and provide visions that address emerging challenges.

Dr. Al-Ali stressed that the Center's participation in these forums confirms the leading role of Trends in enriching the discussion on the most important issues in the region and the world according to a research vision of “Foreseeing the future through knowledge.”
